Dr Lisa Flood – Advanced Practitioner
Surgical Director
MVB (Hons) GPCert SAS, GPCert DII PgCertSAS MRCVSMy name is Lisa Flood and I am the Surgical Director and RPS at Chantry Vets. I graduated with honours from the University College of Dublin in 2007. I have worked at Chantry Vets since March 2015 and in that time achieved a GP Certificate and Pg Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, plus a GP Certification in Diagnostic Imaging in May 2018. I am also an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. This status is awarded to Veterinary Surgeons who have demonstrated their advanced knowledge and experience in a particular area of expertise. My special interests include orthopaedic and neurosurgery and I am currently studying towards an Advanced Certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedics.
The caseload at Chantry Vets keeps me very busy, but in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, two sons, two dogs and two cats. I travel back to Ireland as often as I can to see my family and friends.

Fraser Reddick

BVM&S MRCVS RECOVER BLS/ALSHi, I’m Fraser and I am the Clinical Director and RPS at Chantry Vets. I qualified from Edinburgh University in 2003. I spent 6 years in General Practice before moving into Emergency and Critical Care for the next 10 years. My main interests are ECC and Soft Tissue Surgery. I am currently studying for a GPCert in Computed Tomography (CT) with Improve International. I’m also a VetGDP Advisor and oversee the training and mentoring of our new and recent graduates; I enjoy helping them to progress and develop their practical skills. I have recently completed RECOVER certification in both Basic and Advanced Life Support, the international standard in CPR training for veterinary professionals. In my spare time I enjoy watching rugby and gardening. I currently own a Bengal cat called Ripple, and a variety of exotic pets (tarantulas, chameleons, a turtle, and others!).

Lek.Wet. MRCVSHello my name is Justyna and I graduated in 2011 from the University of Warmia and Mazury, Poland. I originally came to the UK in 2018 when I began working at Chantry Vets. I particularly enjoy diagnostic imaging, and I am currently working towards a GP Cert in this discipline from Improve International. I am a trained VetGDP Advisor and provide mentorship to our new and recent graduate vets. I work between the Brindley Way Hospital and the Pontefract branch and live locally with my Partner, and our little dog, Fenek.

Dr Maria-Christina Balatsouka

DVM GPCert Derm PgDip VPHE MRCVSHello, my name is Maria-Christina and I am one of the Senior Veterinary Surgeons for Chantry Vets. I graduated from the University of Thessaly in Greece in 2015, and I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, and a GP Certificate in Dermatology. I am currently studying for a PgC in Dermatology as well as an NVQ in Team Leading from Bradford College. I am a qualified OV Vet, meaning I can assist with pet travel and export queries, and I have also completed the Edward Jenner Leadership programme. My role also includes being a VetGDP mentor, meaning I am qualified to help guide new and recent graduates.
I currently work from the Brindley Way Hospital where I see Dermatology cases and general appointments. I enjoy the challenge of working with problem skin and ear conditions and helping owners to manage these often frustrating, and tricky-to-control cases.
In my spare time, I am a member of the national Padel team and I often travel the country to compete in tournaments. I also enjoy playing the piano.

Dr Robert Janiak – Advanced Practitioner
Cardiologist
Lek.Vet. GPCert(SAM) PgCert(SAC) MRCVS,Hello I’m Robert and I work as an Advanced Practitioner in Cardiology. Over the past few years I have been operating a mobile cardiology and ultrasound service in the London and Surrey area. Prior to this I spent two years working in a referral hospital in Jonkoping, Sweden, seeing cardiology and ultrasound cases referred from local practices. Personally I enjoy hiking, biking, running, tennis and scuba diving.

I qualified as a Vet in 1998, and gained my Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2007. I later became an Advanced Practitioner in Surgery in 2015. In addition to seeing complex surgical cases at Chantry, I also send referrals from other local practices that require advanced imaging, such as CT or Arthroscopy

DVM MRCVSHello, I’m Andrea and I qualified from the University of Zagreb (Croatia) in 2020, and moved to the UK in 2021. I have a keen interest in surgery and physical rehabilitation. I am currently studying towards the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Small Animal Surgery. I have three cats of my own who still live in Croatia. Outside of work I enjoy playing tennis and the drums.

I am currently studying for Advanced Practitioner status via Harper Adams University. My main interests are Internal Medicine and Oncology, and I regularly work as the ‘Hospital’ Vet at Brindley Way, caring for our in-patients. I also offer consultations and internal referrals from our other Chantry branches for chronic or complex medical cases.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar and exploring my new home city of Leeds.

I qualified from the University of Cordoba, Spain in 1999 and have worked in several hospitals and emergency settings in the UK and Spain, since then. I particularly enjoy Emergency and Critical Care cases and working with close-knit teams. I spend my time between the UK and my home in Spain, which I share with my wife and three children.

In 2020 I achieved the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing via Myerscough College, and I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider. I work at the Brindley Way Hospital and job share Head Nurse with my colleague Michelle. I am an Elite certified Fear Free professional and am actively implementing many practices to ensure we offer a less stressful experience to all our patients. I run regular Fear Free Nurse Clinics from our Brindley Way Hospital, offering 1:1 sessions for fearful pets. I’m particularly interested in medical cases and cat friendly practices; despite being the ultimate dog lover and owning a lovely rescue Lurcher called Bambi. I also enjoy nutritional consultations and I hold the Hills Nutritional Ambassador Award.

RVN DipAVN (SA) DipHE CVN RECOVER BLS/ALSI have been in practice since 2005, joined Chantry in 2011 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse through Myerscough College in 2015. I work at the Brindley Way Hospital and job share Head Nurse with my colleague Megan. My main areas of interest are surgical nursing, anaesthesia and critical care nursing. I have completed the BSAVA Merit Award in Surgical Nursing and the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. I am also QPR Gatekeeper Certified. In September 2023 I gained my RECOVER certification for Basic and Advanced Life Support. When I have a day off I enjoy gardening, camping, and taking my two Springer Spaniels on long walks.

I enjoy my job, some days it can be difficult, but it is ultimately very rewarding. I enjoy anaesthesia cases, but do like getting hands-on in surgery too. In 2022 I was promoted to Senior Surgical Nurse (General) based at the Brindley Way Hospital. In 2024 I achieved an NCert in Surgical Nursing via Improve International. My life out of work involves my dogs, which I enjoy going on hikes and country walks with, plus a fluffy cat, for sofa cuddles!

Over the years I have held different nursing roles as consulting nurse, senior surgical nurse and since 2016, night nurse. I joined Chantry Vets in 2021 as a permanent member of their night team. One of the most rewarding parts of the job for me is working with emergency cases. In my free time I enjoy reading, baking and competing with my dogs. I currently live with 3 golden retrievers, 1 cat and 5 tortoises.

After leaving school I went to Askham Bryan College where I gained a diploma in animal welfare and a level 2 animal nursing qualification. I qualified as an RVN in 2024 from Myerscough College and I am also a Fear Free Certified professional. I work at many of the different branches, so get to meet a lot of our clients and I enjoy moving around and gaining experience from our busy practices. In July 2024 I will begin studying for a NCert in Transfusion Medicine via Improve International.
I have a passion for caring for a range of animals, especially dogs as outside of work I have two German Short-Haired Pointers Frankie and Mabel.

I have previously worked as a Head Nurse in a practice with a large equine surgical caseload, and have also worked in mixed practice. I later spent 30 years working for the University of Sheffield as a clinical research assistant. When I’m not at work I train and work Large Munsterlander gundogs.

Toni Middleton

RVN, ISFMCertFN, ISFMDipFNHi, I’m Toni and I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1988 and I hold the ISFM Feline Nursing Certificate and Diploma. Although I have previously worked in senior nursing roles I now work as a non-clinical RVN, performing many of the administrative tasks required in veterinary practice; such as balancing controlled drugs, maintaining lab equipment, and checking prescriptions. I am also on Chantry’s ‘Green Committee’ and last year helped the practice to achieve the Bronze Investors in Environment (IiE) award. Most recently I have aided the Brindley Way Hospital to achieve the Gold ISFM award which I’m also incredibly proud of.

FdSc, RVNHi My name is Zalatia Copley. I joined Chantry Vets in 2013 and qualified as a Foundation Degree RVN from Askham Bryan in October 2016. Before this, I completed a 2-year Animal Management Diploma. I thoroughly enjoy working as a Veterinary Nurse within a fantastic team. I am mainly based at the Castleford Church Street Surgery.
I am particularly interested in clinical nutrition and hold the Hills Nutritional Ambassador Award. In Oct 24 I will begin studying for an NCert in Small Animal Nutrition from Improve International. I have a passion for caring for various animals, especially dogs, and have always wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse growing up. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my family dogs and socialising with my friends.

RAMA, Head ReceptionistI joined Chantry Vets in August 2016 and I am the Head Receptionist. I thrive by supporting my team of veterinary care assistants and looking after our clients and their pets. I hold an NVQ Level 3 and 4 Diploma in Customer Service, Team Leading, and Management. I am QPR Gatekeeper Certified, hold an NVQ level 2 in Mental Health First Aid and I co-ordinate the practice’s Wellbeing Team. I’m a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and hold the Competent Dispenser, Bronze and Silver level Accredited Receptionist Awards. I also hold the Hills Nutritional Ambassador Award and am a qualified RAMA, which allows me to dispense specific medications. I am currently working towards a Certificate in Canine Arthritis Management. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two huskies, I also enjoy aerial arts and spending time with my friends and family.

Hi! My name is Lauren, I joined the Chantry Vets team in January 2020 originally as a VCA. I now work at the Brindley Way Hospital managing repeat medication requests and our Pet Health Club. I love working here, as I get to see so many different pets and their owners every day! I have always loved animals, I studied Animal Care & Animal Management at College when I left school. I am a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and hold the Bronze Accreditation and Competent Dispenser Awards. I hold NVQ’s in Customer Service, and Understanding Autism from Bradford College. I am a proud fur-mum, so in my spare time you’ll find me meeting the demands of my 3 French Bulldogs; Iris, Brigit & Pogba, and 2 cats; Lilo & Stitch.

Veterinary Care Assistant
Hello, I’m Charlotte and I work as a Veterinary Care Assistant, primarily at our Great Houghton branch. I am also one of the practice’s Wellbeing Champions, looking after our entire team.
I graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Management and Science. I am a member of the British Veterinary Reception Association and hold the Competent Veterinary Dispenser Award. I have recently completed additional training in bereavement support, so I can further assist our clients at this difficult time.
At home, I have a cat called Olive, and I have experience caring for reptiles and dogs too. I enjoy spending my spare time perfecting my baking recipes, which I test on my fellow colleagues!

I joined Chantry Vets as a VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant) in 2020. I am a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and have gained the Bronze Award and Competent Dispenser qualification. I hold an NVQ level 2 in Customer Service from Bradford College and I have also completed Bereavement Support training to further support our customers during this difficult time. I am now working towards the BVRA Receptionist Foundation Course. Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, and spending time with my gorgeous dachshund puppy Luna.

Hi, I’m Faye and I joined the VCA team at Chantry in 2021 and I mainly work from the Brindley Way Hospital. I love working here and meeting different animals with their humans daily. I hold a BTEC level 2 in Customer Service and have many years experience within the veterinary industry in a nursing and customer focused role. I am a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and hold the Competent Dispenser and Bronze awards. I’m now working towards the Silver accreditation. When I’m not at work I spend my time walking and enjoying days out with my terrier cross Judy. She was our 3rd foster dog and luckily for her, we failed the foster and adopted her! She’s very sassy, but we wouldn’t change her for the world.

I love everyone I work with and admire how they pour their whole heart into helping your furry friends. I previously worked at the RSPCA rehoming center for over 20 years. I worked closely with members of the public and the rescue animals. I have recently become a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and I am working towards my Bronze Accreditation award. I am a qualified first aider and I am also working towards an NVQ level 2 in Customer Service from Bradford College. RVN VPAC D32/33 PgCert (VBM) MCMIHi, I’m Victoria, the Practice Director and Practice Principle for Chantry Vets. I started working for Chantry in 2010 but have worked in the veterinary industry for over 25 years. I originally qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, before moving into Senior Nursing roles and then into Administration in 2004. I hold a Certificate in Practice Administration, the D32/33 Assessors Qualification and NVQ’s in Mental Health Awareness and Team Leading. I completed a Post Graduate Certificate (PgCert) in Veterinary Business Management from Liverpool University in 2022, qualifying with Distinction. As Practice Principle, I oversee the training and supervision of our Student Veterinary Nurses, ensuring we are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements. I am also a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my Husband, two young children, and my pets; a naughty, one-eared rescue cat called Freddie, and two rats called Juniper and Cyclone.

I hold a BA Honours in English Language and Linguistics and a Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service. I am also one of the designated First Aiders for the practice. I enjoy running in my spare time and I am a member of a local Castleford running club. In 2023 I successfully completed the inaugural Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon.

I am kept busy out of work by my 13 year old son, and our many family pets including 3 dogs, 2 gerbils, a cat, a range of fish and 3 rabbits, a few of which I have adopted from Chantry

Hello, I’m Wenda and I joined Chantry Vets in 2021 as the Financial Administrator. I work from the Brindley Way Hospital as a member of our small Admin Team; I deal with customer accounts, banking, and ensuring all our bills are paid! In my spare time I am the Treasurer and a foster volunteer for Henry’s Haven cat rescue. I have fostered hundreds of cats and kittens over the years to help them find future loving homes.
