My name is Lisa Flood and I am the Surgical Director at Chantry Vets.   I graduated with honours from the University College of Dublin in 2007. I have worked at Chantry Vets since March 2015 and in that time achieved a GP Certificate and Pg Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, plus a GP Certification in Diagnostic Imaging in May 2018. I have recently achieved RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Surgery.  This status is awarded to Veterinary Surgeons who have demonstrated their advanced knowledge and experience in a particular area of expertise. My special interests include orthopaedic and neurosurgery. The caseload at Chantry Vets keeps me very busy, but in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, two dogs and two cats. I travel back to Ireland as often as I can to see my family and friends.

My name is Birgit, better known as Bridget, and I graduated from LMU, Munich, Germany in 2001.  I have been working as a Veterinary Surgeon in small animal practice in Yorkshire and Lancashire ever since.  I have worked at Chantry Vets since 2014 as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon.  My special interest lies in internal and feline medicine.  I am also a qualified Official Veterinarian (OV) meaning I can assist with Pet Passport and export queries.  I live with my son, our cat Sparkle and my two rescue budgies in Wakefield.  In my leisure time, I enjoy children's activities and at night time a crime novel.

Dr Rhoda Bester BVSc MRCVS

My name is Rhoda.  I qualified at Onderstepoort, one of the universities with the longest degree programs, in 2009.  I started my career back home in South Africa, working in Small Animal practice.  In South Africa we do not really specialise in certain fields, you are expected to do anything and everything! I later moved to Hong Kong, where I was fortunate to work with an incredible team of specialists.  I also volunteered in Vietnam, helping to rehabilitate pangolins.  I did a short stint in Qatar and then landed in bonny Scotland for two years.  I joined the Chantry team in 2020 and work from the Castleford Surgery. I have one fur child, Tess, a small 18 year old teacup poodle, and we act like tourists as much as possible, exploring our new home.

Hi, I'm Fraser and I qualified from Edinburgh University in 2003.  I spent 6 years in General Practice before moving into Emergency and Critical Care for the next 10 years.  My main interests are ECC and Soft Tissue surgery.  In my spare time I enjoy watching rugby and gardening.  I currently own a Border Collie called Echo, 2 cats, Ripple and Java, and a variety of exotic pets (tarantulas, chameleons, a turtle and others!).

Hello I'm Robert and I work as an Advanced Practitioner in Cardiology.  Over the past few years I have been operating a mobile cardiology and ultrasound service in the London and Surrey area.  Prior to this I spent two years working in a referral hospital in Jonkoping, Sweden, seeing cardiology and ultrasound cases referred from local practices.  Personally I enjoy hiking, biking, running, tennis and scuba diving.

Hello, my name is Achilleas and I graduated from the University of Thessaly, Greece in 2018.  I spent one year as an army vet, dealing with the daily issues of the army dogs, before moving to the UK and starting work in a veterinary hospital in the North East.  Whilst there, I performed routine surgeries whilst gaining skills in pathology and diagnostic imaging.  I joined the team at Chantry Vets in 2021 and hope to continue to expand my skills.  In my spare time I enjoy swimming, working out in the gym and spending time with friends.

Hi, my name's  Alex and I joined the great team at Chantry Vets at the start of 2021.  Although I'm from just down the road in Doncaster, I graduated from Trakia University in Bulgaria in 2020 after seven years living in Europe.  I really enjoy all aspects of Small Animal Practice, and I'm most interested in Ophthalmology and Cardiology so I'm looking forward to developing my knowledge of that side of practice.  When I'm not in the clinic I like to get out and about into nature and wandering around in the Peaks is one of my favourite things to do on my days off.

My name is Bojana (pronounced Boy-ana) and I graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 2015.  I worked in Croatia for five years until deciding to join Chantry Vets in 2020.  My main fields of interest are small animal anaesthesia and soft tissue surgery.  I wish to pursue certificates in these areas sometime in the future.  In my free time, I enjoy circus arts (especially hula hooping), practicing yoga and spending time in nature.

Hi, my name is Nic and I qualified in 1981 from Edinburgh University.  I have spent my entire career in Yorkshire, initially in Mixed Practice, before later focusing on entirely Small Animal work.  My main area of interest is chronic medicine and holistic care.  I have been heavily involved in Veterinary Nurse training as both a D32/33 Assessor and as Practice Principle.  I have had a Border Collie for company all my working life and when I'm not out walking, I keep bees and enjoy ornithology.  I have two grown up children and three grandchildren all under four.

My name is Njabulo  and I graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2018. I  then completed a  Community  Service year, before deciding to move to the UK. Due to the Covid pandemic this was pushed back until September when I finally joined Chantry Vets. I'm particularly  interested in Emergency and Critical care as well as soft tissue surgery. I'm looking forward to advancing my skills In both these areas and others In the near future. In my time off you'll find me enjoying the outdoors in a wide variety of activities from hiking, rock climbing and riding. Virginia Herrera MSc DVM MRCVS

Hi, I'm Virginia and I was lucky enough to do my veterinarian training across three countries; in South America, in Europe and here in the UK, graduating as a Veterinary Surgeon in 1990 and earning my Masters from the University of Aberdeen in 1993.  I started my career in Uruguay where I rapidly progressed and even lectured in Veterinary Practice, before moving to Spain where I set up and ran a successful practice, working predominantly with pets and small animals in the local community.  In 2017 I then completed a post graduate degree in Small Animal Imaging Techniques from the Cardinal Herrera University. I am passionate about helping those members of your family who can't tell you what's wrong; your pets.   I have always held an interest in small animal medicine, whilst my experience in soft tissue surgery has stood me well, particularly in emergency cases. Having settled here in Yorkshire amongst the friendliest people I have had the good fortune to meet, I am delighted to find a home here at Chantry Vets with people with similar values. Outside work I enjoy horse riding and most sports, much to the disapproval of my Yorkshire Terrier, Jacky, a real character who keeps me on my toes.

I graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in Animal Science and then progressed to studying Veterinary Nursing with the College of Animal Welfare at Potters Bar. I have also achieved the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing with Myerscough College and am presently studying for an NVQ in Mental Health First Aid. I work at the Alverthorpe Hospital and job share Head Nurse with my colleague Michelle.   I'm particularly interested in medical cases and cat friendly practices; despite being the ultimate dog lover and owning a lovely rescue Lurcher called Bambi.  I also enjoy nutritional consultations, having recently completed the Hills Nutritional Ambassador Award.

Hi,   My name is Meg and I qualified in 2015 at Chantry Vets after completing my Apprenticeship in Veterinary Nursing.  In 2016 I moved to London to specialise in Emergency and Critical Care and gained my Certificates in this discipline shortly afterwards (CertVNECC and the BSAVA Merit award in Anaesthesia and ECC).  I then returned to general practice and gained my certificate in the nursing of reptiles and amphibians (APVNH).  In 2019 I moved to work in a referral hospital where I started in general wards, but quickly specialised in ECC, working full time in the intensive care unit.  When I moved back to Yorkshire in May this year, I started my new role at Chantry as the Senior Medical RVN.  I am currently studying for my Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice in Veterinary Nursing and have just finished my PgC.

I enjoy my job, some days it can be difficult, but it is ultimately very rewarding. I prefer medical nursing but do like getting hands on in surgery too. My life out of work involves 2 dogs, who I enjoy going on hikes and country walks with, plus a fluffy cat, for sofa cuddles!

I have recently joined the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and I am currently working towards my Bronze award, as well as an NVQ in Mental Health First Aid.  The best part about the job is the wagging tails and getting to give your pets ear scratches before their appointments – As I don’t currently have any pets at home, I’m enjoying getting to know all of yours! You’ll find me at our Pontefract branch during the week, but when work is over you might find me on the football field – I play Sunday league/grassroots football on a weekend and coach an U9s team. My name is Pred Prokic and I am the Business Development Director for Chantry Vets and West Yorkshire.  I qualified with Veterinary Degrees from both Belgrade and Onderstepoort Universities and later moved to the UK in 2002.  I originally joined Chantry Vets as a partner and then later became sole Director.  Although my role is now less clinical, I still take great pride in the service and care that Chantry Vets provide.  It has been my absolute pleasure to watch the Practice grow and develop over the years.   In my spare time, I enjoy reading history books, nature and travelling. I love all animals, big and small, domestic and wild and am passionate about their wellbeing in all environments.

I originally qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, before moving into Senior Nursing roles and then into Administration in 2004. I hold a Certificate in Practice Administration, the D32/33 Assessors Qualification and NVQ's in Mental Health Awareness and Team Leading.  I am currently studying towards a PgCert in Veterinary Business Management from Liverpool University.  I am particularly interested in Insurance, Finance, and Digital Marketing. I have a naughty little Yorkshire Terrier called Lennox who is a regular visitor to Alverthorpe due to his numerous health problems. In my spare time, I enjoy running; I completed the Manchester Half Marathon in May last year and I am currently training for the Leeds Half Marathon.

I joined Chantry Vets in 2017 and work full time at our Alverthorpe Hospital as Client Care Manager and Insurance Co Ordinator. I hold a Diploma in Health and Social Care and Communication, with over 5 years work experience in Customer Service. I hold NVQ's in Customer Service and Mental Health First Aid.  I am a member of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and hold the Bronze accreditation, I am currently studying towards the Silver Award.  I live locally in Castleford with my partner and our 3 dogs and 3 cats, who keep me well and truly on my toes outside of work.
