My name is Pred Prokic and I am the Business Development Director for Chantry Vets and West Yorkshire.  I qualified with Veterinary Degrees from both Belgrade and Onderstepoort Universities and later moved to the UK in 2002.  I originally joined Chantry Vets as a partner and then later became sole Director.  Although my role is now less clinical, I still take great pride in the service and care that Chantry Vets provide.  It has been my absolute pleasure to watch the Practice grow and develop over the years.   In my spare time, I enjoy reading history books, nature and travelling. I love all animals, big and small, domestic and wild and am passionate about their wellbeing in all environments.

Surgical Director

My name is Lisa Flood and I am the Surgical Director at Chantry Vets.   I graduated with honours from the University College of Dublin in 2007. I have worked at Chantry vets since March 2015 and in that time achieved a GP certificate and Pg Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, plus a GP Certification in in Diagnostic Imaging in May 2018. I am now working towards the Advanced Practitioner qualification. My special interests include orthopaedic and neurosurgery. The caseload at Chantry Vets keeps me very busy, but in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, two dogs and two cats. I travel back to Ireland as often as I can to see my family and friends.

My name is Birgit, better known as Bridget, and I graduated from LMU, Munich, Germany in 2001.  I have been working as a Veterinary Surgeon in small animal practice in Yorkshire and Lancashire ever since.  I have worked at Chantry Vets since 2014 as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon.  My special interest lies in internal and feline medicine.  I am also a qualified Official Veterinarian (OV) meaning I can assist with Pet Passport and export queries.  I live with my son, our cat Sparkle and my two rescue budgies in Wakefield.  In my leisure time, I enjoy children's activities and at night time a crime novel.

I graduated with a Veterinary Degree from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2015 and subsequently moved to the UK to do an Erasmus+ placement. I joined Chantry Vets in August 2016. I regularly work at the Alverthorpe Hospital providing care for our in patients.  I am currently studying towards a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine from Improve International. I am also a qualified Official Veterinarian (OV), so I can assist with export and Pet Passport queries.  In my spare time I like photography, cooking, travelling and exploring the Yorkshire countryside with my Partner.

My name is Carmen and I graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2017. Shortly afterwards I moved to the UK to do an Erasmus+ externship for three months.  I joined Chantry Vets in July 2018 and I have a special interest in Internal Medicine.  In my spare time, I enjoy playing rugby.  I am learning to play the ukelele and trying to learn samba in a drumming band.

My name is Claudia, I graduated from University of Complutense de Madrid (Spain) in 2018. I spent one year of my degree on placement in Marcy L´Etoile, Lyon (France), where I had my first contact with veterinary world, after a short period working in Spain in small animals, I decided to explore new places and say goodbye to the good weather to come to England. I completed 6 months’ work experience with Chantry Vets as an intern, during this time they were so welcoming. I couldn´t have been happier when I got the chance to stay with the team as a Veterinary surgeon. I hope to stay with Chantry long-term as I am learning so much from all my colleagues. I´ve always had an interest in medicine and a love for animals, I guess that is why I ended up with a beautiful deaf cat in Spain and two tortoise sisters in England.

I work as a Staff Nurse (Head Nurse) at the Alverthorpe Hospital and I'm particularly interested in medical cases and cat friendly practices; despite being the ultimate dog lover and owning a lovely rescue Lurcher called Bambi.

I have been in practice since 2005, joined Chantry in 2011 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse through Myerscough College in 2015.  I work at the Alverthorpe Hospital as one of the Staff Nurses (Head Nurses). My main areas of interest are surgical nursing, anaesthesia and critical care nursing. I have completed the BSAVA Merit Award in Surgical Nursing, and I am currently working towards my Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. When I have a day off I enjoy gardening, camping and taking my two Springer Spaniels on long walks.

Hi, my name is Rachel . I am a Trainee Veterinary Nurse and have been working at Chantry Vets since June 2018. Hello, I'm James and I joined Chantry Vets in November 2019 as their Ambulance Driver; I also complete general maintenance work throughout the practices. I am kept busy out of work by my 13 year old son, and our many family pets including 3 dogs, 2 gerbils, a cat, a range of fish and 3 rabbits, a few of which I have adopted from Chantry!

I have been employed as the Practice Manager at Chantry Vets since 2010 and have worked in the Veterinary industry for over 20 years. I originally qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, before moving into Senior Nursing roles and then into Administration in 2004. I hold a Certificate in Practice Administration, the D32/33 Assessors Qualification and an NVQ in Mental Health Awareness. I have recently completed an NVQ in Team Leading and I am currently studying towards a PgCert in Veterinary Business Management from Liverpool University.  I am particularly interested in Insurance, Finance, and Digital Marketing. I have recently completed my Masters in Business Administration via York University, qualifying with a Distinction.  My role encompasses many aspects of Practice Management.  Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my rescue dog Jake, in the Yorkshire countryside.

My name is Rachel and I work at our Alverthorpe Hospital as the Deputy Practice Manager. I joined Chantry Vets in 2013 as a part time receptionist at our Castleford Church Street Centre. I hold a BA Honours in English Language and Linguistics. I also hold a Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service. I have a naughty little Yorkshire Terrier called Lennox who is a regular visitor to Alverthorpe due to his numerous health problems. In my spare time, I enjoy running; I completed the Manchester Half Marathon in May last year and I am currently training for the Leeds Half Marathon.

I joined Chantry Vets in 2017 and work full time at our surgery in Castleford on Lower Oxford Street, as an Animal Nursing Assistant and Receptionist, as well as our Rothwell branch on weekends. I hold a Diploma in Health and Social Care and Communication, with over 5 years work experience in Customer Service. I have recently achieved an NVQ in Customer Service from Bradford College and the Bronze level Accredited Receptionist Award from the British Veterinary Receptionist Association .  I live locally in Castleford with my partner and our 3 dogs and 3 cats, who keep me well and truly on my toes outside of work.

My name is Lynn Byers and my role within the Practice is Financial Co-ordinator. I have worked at Chantry vets since 2002. I was initially based at our old Headquarters at Gills Yard and now work from our Alverthorpe Hospital. I have two children and three grandchildren who keep me busy and in my spare time I enjoy visiting the gym. I currently have no pets after losing my cat of fifteen years, who came in as a rescue cat.
