Permanent Veterinary Surgeon Position
1 · Full Time Veterinary Surgeon
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with some experience in consulting and routine surgical procedures, up to 2 years qualifiedMentor and assistance provided with PDP if required.
2 · Experienced Full Time Veterinary Surgeon
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with more experience, 2 years + qualified. Ideal opportunity to develop surgical and clinical skills in a supportive environment. Opportunity to develop personal interests up to and including post graduate certificates.
We are a Family run business, comprising of 11 surgeries, including a Veterinary Hospital in Alverthorpe and Veterinary Centres in Wakefield and Castleford. Due to the size of the Practice we can accomodate the development of personal interests. We have ample opportunities for assistant vets to be involved in advanced medical and surgical work ups, in conjunction with Senior Vets/Certificate holders.  The Veterinary Director and Senior practitioners have a wealth of experience between them and provide constructive and practical assistance to less experienced colleagues.
Full support is given, together with plenty of encouragement, for surgeons to develop their own skills and experience.  We actively source and fund good quality CPD (up to and including Advanced Certificates) and have an excellently stocked Practice Library.
Our Hospital in Alverthorpe is a  well-equipped Practice. We have excellent facilities including Digital X-ray, ECG, Pulse ox's, CAT BP machine, Capnograph, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Operating microscope, Electrolysis unit, visiting MRI and CT, Holter Monitor and many other toys!  We regularly perform a range of orthopaedics inc TTA, TTT and fracture repairs and have a visiting orthopaedic surgeon (Mike Guilliard CertSAS FRCVS) for any Spinals or complex cases. We also have a large exotic client base at our Castleford Centre where one of our Senior Vets caters for all avian, mammalian and reptilian exotics.
We have a great team of support staff and nurses and work as a friendly happy team.
