Chantry Vets was established in 1960 and is the oldest Small Animal Veterinary practice in Wakefield and one of the longest established ones in Yorkshire. We are also the only family owned Veterinary Practice left in the Wakefield district and are proud to serve, in many cases, more than two generations of clients from same families over the years.

In September 2012 we opened our New Chantry Vets Hospital (with 24 hour on-site patient care) in Alverthorpe and have Veterinary Centres in Wakefield and Castleford and branch surgeries in Normanton, Castleford, Outwood, Ossett, Middleton, Pontefract, Hemsworth, Featherstone and Rothwell.

Our team consists of over 70 members of staff. We pride ourselves on our friendly, professional and personal service to our patients and clients. Chantry Vets is committed to providing a high standard of professional service by ensuring that our staff regularly attend and have access to good quality continuing education programmes.

All our Veterinary Surgeries have been accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). The accreditation is awarded to a practice after undergoing rigorous inspections; they then certify that the practice has conformed to meet the very high standards required. Our new Hospital in Alverthorpe has been accredited the highest standard possible - Veterinary Hospital. Chantry Vets also runs a training and assessment centre for Veterinary nursing.

Our Veterinary Hospital in Alverthorpe, Middleton Surgery and Pontefract Surgery are open 7 days a week (except Bank Holidays) with No Weekend Appointment Surcharges!
